“Judge nothing, you will be happy. Forgive everything, you will be happier. Love everything, you will be happiest.” – Sri Chinmoy
Dealing with negative people is the hardest part of life that I ever had to deal with. It seems like a simple subject at first glance. When I was in my teenage years, I was probably the most negative person. I had a simple concept: if you are negative about the future, you will not be disappointed. If someone would be negative towards me, I would I attack them back with negativity or just eliminate any communication with them again.
Regarding negative situations: As I got older, I learned that life is a lot more complicated, and I began looking for something positive in any negative situation. If I could not find anything positive, I would accept it as a lesson and try to learn from it and move on.
Regarding negative people, who try to dismiss your character, talk behind your back and jeopardize your relationships with people or hurt your income potential: It is hard to fix an issue if you are not present at a place where someone said something bad about you. If that person causes you nothing but stress, one might think, let’s just avoid this person and get them out of your life, period. Right? What if it is your child or a parent?
I find the Buddhist way of dealing with negativity works better than anything else. Buddhism teaches that one of the main paths to spiritual growth, and ultimately awakening or enlightenment, is the acceptance of all things, as they are in this moment. This means surrender to all that is, cultivating equanimity and the wisdom of acknowledging that, “it is the way it is.” This is opposed to pushing reality away, rejecting reality, and wanting things to be different than they are. This acceptance must apply equally to all phenomena, whether we perceive it as “negative” or “positive.” In fact, negativity can be our greatest teacher.
In other words learn to love negativity as part of life’s balance. Without negativity, positivity would not exist. The world we live in is impossible without both negative and positive. Every coin will always have two sides. If you will accept it and love both sides, it would never bother you ever again. Remember: it is your choice, no one else’s, what to love and what to hate.

i see that you favoured a comment, which i made on another blog,
to this day i don’t understand why people read the comments, possibly the reason just fly over my head…
About negative people, i shall be a challenge for you, i would be the most negative person you would meet on the net..
toad
there are no negative people, just people who are hurt or in fear
i’m very negative, i’m over my hurt an have no fear!
if you are very negative you are probably both, if you do not know what it is, than it is in subconscious level. Negativity is an anger that produced by fear or a hurt. Some people do not dig deep enough to find out where is it coming from
i dear sir, am completely in touch with the subconscious me…
Where you only know of it!
You see you quote book learning, where after the first year, i find useless…

You are right that you are very negative person, and rude as well, you make comments based on your anger and not knowledge, it is ok with me, because I see your pain, but I have no way of helping you, and no one else can as well, the only person who can help you is you.
It took me 8 years of hard work to learn myself. 8 years of daily exercise and a lot of counseling with various spiritual gurus, and I still work on myself and consult with others.
If you want help with your internal pain, you can start by taking “13 steps to awakening” course. Take at least a week per step if you want to see any kind of results, and make sure to do all daily exercises and homework. in might make you fell better in 13 weeks, but you still need to find a human being who you feel comfortable to open up, about what causes your pain. I have helped dozens people who were a lot worse position than you, the type who shoot first ask questions later…
So there is a hope for you, if you want the change and start loving life instead of hating it

you again talking out of anger, you do not know anything about me… I lived in monastery as a spiritual person outside of the world you think I was living in.
FYI:
I am a spiritual person and live most of my life in spiritual world not physical body world.
I do so agree with that statement Alex! I have just begun my journey into accepting all bad with all good and just letting it be a part of life. It is a huge waste of time for me to sit on my couch anymore and dislike this or that about a person. If I hear a negative, I just smile and move on. Thanks for this post, it was an awesome one.
Thank you very much for stoping by, I am glad that you have enjoyed the post
Love the quote you started with. Great post.
thank you, thats my life model :)
Negative people are so hard to be around – they drain my energy. I am a very positive person, but struggling to maintain my outlook where I work at the minute – it’s toxic. Any tips?
You need to work on yourself try my course may be it would help https://alifeanswer.com/13-steps-awakening/ , when you are a positive person there are no negativity around you. Negativity is your reflection on the world around you, just like everything else. When Dalai Lama was asked how come you do not feel bad about your people that are being killed, he smiled and than answered “you have to find humor in everything, even in evil ”
So very true Alex. It all comes down to what we focus on, it’s completely up to us. Although it’s a constant effort I choose to focus on positivity and happiness. Love your opening quote.
Interesting concept. I’ve never thought about it in such away.
